As a social networking tool, References@SBT intends to connect colleagues across geographical and organizational borders and animates them to communicate with each other. It can be observed that the initiated knowledge transfer occurs not only via the application itself, but also via bilateral communication (phone, e-mail, meeting). The result of a user survey shows the quantitative benefit of deploying and using References@SBT: It implicates an average time saving of 0.9 working days per user per year.
